SA Sawmilling Pty Ltd (SASpine) is a privately owned Company that began operations in 1997 when it purchased a Sawmilling facility at Kuitpo and a Manufacturing Centre and Head Office based at Wingfield. Total sales currently exceed $15 million per annum and SASpine provides ongoing employment for over 80 employees

SASpine specialises in value added products with primary products being Dry After F7 Rougher Header, Match Lining Boards, Flooring, Treated Decking and Framing. These products are sold in both domestic and export markets and are marketed throughout Australia by a national distribution network.

Kuitpo

The Kuitpo Sawmill is based in the picturesque Adelaide Hills adjacent to the popular McLaren Vale wine district. The mill was first built in the 1960's and was subject to a major upgrade in 1984 and again in 1993 to its present configuration.

The mill has the capacity to convert 80,000m3 of Pine Sawlog per annum on a two shift operation utilizing a chipper canter breakdown system followed by a twin band resaw. Sawlog is resourced entirely within the Adelaide Hills district from Forestry SA and some private growers. All sawn output is transported to our Wingfield site for further value adding

Wingfield

The Wingfield site is situated in the north western suburbs of Adelaide and is approximately a 1½ hour drive from Kuitpo. This site consists of an auto stacking machine, two high temperature drying kilns, modern drymilling facilities, a CCA treatment plant and four solar powered re-drying kilns.

Wingfield also operates on a two shift operation, processesing timber from Kuitpo  and raw material sourced from smaller sawmills scattered around the district.
